{"id":23110,"date":"2017-05-25T17:50:42","date_gmt":"2017-05-26T01:50:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/puppyintraining.com\/?p=23110"},"modified":"2022-06-13T20:45:56","modified_gmt":"2022-06-14T04:45:56","slug":"our-litter-of-golden-retriever-pups-week-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/puppyintraining.com\/our-litter-of-golden-retriever-pups-week-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Our Litter Of Golden Retriever Pups &#8211; Week 2"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Welcome to week two starring Raven and her litter of Golden Retriever pups! &nbsp;Week 2 marks several key milestones in puppy development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In case you missed it here&#8217;s a link back to <a href=\"https:\/\/puppyintraining.com\/golden-retriever-puppy-development-and-pictures-birth-to-1-week-old\/\">week 1 of our&nbsp;Golden Puppies<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A few\u00a0things to note about the first couple of weeks of puppyhood:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/puppyintraining.com\/our-litter-of-golden-retriever-pups-week-2\/golden-retriever-puppies-week2-1\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-26745\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/puppyintraining.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/golden-retriever-puppies-week2-1.jpg\" alt=\"Our litter of Golden Retriever Puppies Week Two\" class=\"wp-image-26745\" srcset=\"https:\/\/puppyintraining.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/golden-retriever-puppies-week2-1.jpg 600w, https:\/\/puppyintraining.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/golden-retriever-puppies-week2-1-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/puppyintraining.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/golden-retriever-puppies-week2-1-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><figcaption>Golden Retriever Puppies Week Two<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>I was lucky enough to be there to whelp <a href=\"https:\/\/puppyintraining.com\/what-will-be-our-golden-retrievers-first-litter-size\/\">Raven&#8217;s first litter<\/a> and all the puppies came out happy and healthy, but I was still a bit nervous during those early weeks as I was told puppies cannot regulate their temperature so I wanted to make sure their living quarters were not too hot or too cold.<\/li><li>I slept the first few nights right next to the whelping box to make sure everyone was doing well.<\/li><li>The puppies did great during week 2, but Raven developed mastitis. Luckily we were able to treat her with antibiotics and heat compressions and she made a full recovery, but scary nonetheless.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Our Golden pups hit a couple of\u00a0huge milestones during week 2. \u00a0Read on to see what happened with our Golden litter&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>QUICK RECOMMENDATION:<\/strong> If you&#8217;re thinking about getting a Golden puppy we highly recommend reading\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/1119558476\/?tag=minlikwat-20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\">Puppies for Dummies<\/a>\u00a0before getting a puppy. Puppy Piles!
